AGRICULTURE

Balok Aerial Services can do what others can't. By leveraging the industry's leading drones and multispectral sensors, we are proud to work with farms to help increase crop yield while decreasing costs. We combine proven technology with powerful software to analyze the crop to help become the most efficient while still saving money

CROP HEALTH MAPPING

By using industry-leading sensors and UAVs we are able to help farms increase crop yield by up to 30% while still saving money. By gathering data from the different multispectral bands, it is possible to generate indices to detect early signs of crop stress and compare them over time. Thermal imagery also provides valuable insights into plant health, since sick plants decrease transpiration and that is reflected into slight temperature changes.

PLANT CLASSIFICATION

We are able to capture high-resolution images that we can put into specialized software and use algorithms to classify plants in a given field by size, species, and canopy closure.

ADVANCED CROP SCOUTING

CROP PHENOTYPING

Manually measuring plant characteristics is time-consuming. We are able to capture more data in less time, allowing researchers to understand how different breeds react to certain environments and modify desirable traits in order to improve crop yield.

TERRAIN MODELING

By the generation of aligned outputs, which can be used to create digital surface models (DSM). A DSM provides insights into water management, land uses, and terrain elevation.

WATER MANAGEMENT

By using industry-leading sensors we can provide powerful insights into water management, helping identify overspray or missed areas by the difference in crop and soil temperature.

FERTILIZER MANAGEMENT

We are able to easily identify areas low in nutrients while also helping to monitor the effects of fertilizer applications throughout the season and determine if, when, and where a new application is needed.

DISEASE IDENTIFICATION

By collecting both multispectral and thermal imagery, we are easily able to identify diseases before symptoms are visible, since the early signs of disease are first apparent in multispectral imaging we can see results in small temperature changes.

PLANT COUNTING

Using high-resolution multispectral data, we can feed algorithm information for plant counting, saving farmers hours, and making yield predictions more accurate.

LEAK SCOUTING

By using thermal imagery we can help on the identification of irrigation leaks since water has a cooling effect on the vegetation. Areas with excessive irrigation will appear noticeably cooler than the rest of the field.

WEED DETECTION

Analytics developed with multispectral data can identify and highlight weeds, as weeds may have a different spectral signature than the planted crop.
